Car Parking/Drop Off
There are limited accessible parking spaces located near the rear of the main hospital block next to the Jenner Exit. There are 11 accessible spaces and the route to the nearest entrance is clearly marked out. There is also a designated drop off point at the front entrance of the hospital providing level access.
Transport
The nearest tube station is Archway which is within 500 metres of the main hospital entrance, however the tube station is not accessible as there are steps leading up from the platform. The route from the entrance of the tube station to the hospital is accessible. There are also various bus stops located near to the hospital, all of the routes from these being accessible.
Access into main building
The approach to the entrance is via Magdala Avenue which has a level pavement and the entrance area in front of the building is also level. Entry into the hospital is via an outward opening automatic door that is activated by a push button which is at an accessible height.
Reception
The main reception counter has a lowered section and there is sufficient space around the reception area. There is a good level of lighting and an induction loop fitted that is well signed.
Facilities
There are self service cafes and a shop located in the Whittington Court Retail area which is on Level One of the main hospital and can be accessed via lifts from the reception area. There are indoor and outdoor seating areas which are both well lit.
Access to all areas
The circulation throughout the main hospital block is very good and clear widths are adequate throughout.
Staff
There are a number of guides around the hospital that are very helpful if you have difficulty finding your way around and all other staff throughout the hospital are also helpful. A front of house porter is also available Monday to Friday who can provide assistance and has wheelchairs available to help patients getting to clinics and departments. There are a variety of different languages spoken.
